Porous Walker's Haricots Magique The Final Attempt..

I've spent a few days this week at Fifty24SF with Porous Walker and friends as they got ready for Porous' show that opens on Friday, Haricots Magique: The Final Attempt. Porous has assured me on numerous occasions this week that this show is all about 'the quest for fun.' Anybody who gets to spend any amount of time with Porous can more than likely attest to his ongoing quest for fun in everyday life.

By far my favorite part of Haricots Magique is Porous' fifteen foot plus drawing that hangs midway down the left wall from one end of the room to the other. Almost every inch of the brown butcher paper is covered with his humorous and quick witted drawings, including over a thousand little birdies with every 'friend' Porous has on his Facebook page. It's also a veritable who's who (of little birdies) within the San Francisco (and beyond) art world. At the front of the pack? An unnamed sole little birdy leading the entire banner of fun into the sunset .

Make sure you stop in to Fifty24SF on Friday. There will be music, dancing, popcorn, compliments on your outfit and prizes and giveaways. The magic starts at 7!
